ClackLab runs keyboard and mouse tests directly in your browser. This page explains what happens to data when you use the site, and the honest summary is that we collect almost nothing.

What the tests process

Every test on this site runs locally on your device. Keystrokes, clicks and cursor movements are processed by JavaScript inside your browser and are never transmitted to our servers. We do not see, record or store what you type or click.

Local storage

Personal bests and test history are saved in your browser's local storage so your records survive between visits. This data stays on your device. It is never sent anywhere, and clearing your browser data for this site removes it completely.

Analytics

We may use aggregated analytics to understand which tools are useful and how the site is used overall. These measurements do not identify individual visitors, and no personal profiles are built.

<!-- TODO at deploy: name the analytics provider here once chosen -->

Advertising

If advertising appears on the site in the future, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on a prior visit to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google's Ads Settings page.

<!-- TODO at deploy: activate this section only when ads actually go live -->

What we do not do

No accounts and no sign-up exist anywhere on the site. We do not ask for your name, email address or payment details. We do not sell data, because we do not have data to sell.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and no knowingly collected personal data comes from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
